Sinemorets is a small village in Strandja, fairly unknown and rarely visited, till several years ago. As a frontier zone until 1990, the village was not accessible to tourists. Nevertheless, Sinemorets has a rich history and we constantly find traces of its centuries-old existence. Underwater observations in the Potamia gulf, located north of the village, discovered ceramic fragments of V-IV century B.C. Later, anchors and lead plates of an ancient ship were found at the same place. There are ruins from a small fortress on the peninsula.

Accidental excavations in 2007 revealed gold ornaments and ceramics dated III - IV century A.D on the south side of Veleka Beach. They are now exhibited at the National Museum of History in Sofia as "Thracian Treasure of Sinemorets”. Thracian tribes named 'Asti' inhabited the lands of Strandja in the beginning of our millennium, hence the name of Asti Arthotel.

Today the village has about 300 residents. In July and August hundreds of tourists come to Sinemorets but even at the high season, the long beaches and open horizons give you enough space for relaxation, peace and closeness to the sea, the hot sand, the woods and the meadows of Strandja.

The central beach of the village is called Butamyata. To the north is Veleka or Ustieto Beach - the beautiful estuary of Veleka River. At the southern end of Butamiata Beach begins the Silistar zone, part of Nature Park Strandja where sandy untamed beaches stretch one after the other between the cliffs: Lipite, Listi and other nameless sandy spots. You can access them by taking a walk along the winding paths between the deeply cut coast line and the refreshing green oak woods.
